What Yoga Can Do For You

There are numerous health and mental benefits to Yoga, of which, following summarizes a few:

  • A Toned Flexible Body

Yoga has an impact on your body and on how you feel about yourself, there is no doubt about that. Yoga is also associated with youthfulness. It is said to increase blood flow and when you think about it, wrinkles are rooted to causes involving a lack of blood flow. Regardless, there is no doubt about the fact that it makes you feel younger. Yoga postures focus on the spine, commonly referred to as the switchboard to your brain. A flexible spine results in better blood flow, and more blood and oxygen in your brain and organs.

  • Less Stress and More Energy

Need I say more? That is what every woman of today needs! Really, once you practice not allowing things to cause you stress, your energy levels will automatically increase. The practice of Yoga actually converts stress to energy. Through the practice and meditation, you actually build your energy levels and reduce stress in the interim. I was often told prior to my commitment to Yoga that if I was exhausted in the middle of the day, I should go do ten minutes of Yoga. Yea, right, I thought. However now, I see that was absolutely correct. Fatigue can often be curbed by a simple Yoga routine.

After practicing Yoga for about six months now, I am a huge supporter of it and I think that many problems can be solved by a simple Yoga routine. Mainly because it curbs your emotions and guides you toward making sensible decisions. If you are angry, go do some Yoga and then act. You will find that your actions are much more peaceful and at the end of it all, you feel pretty good. You won't be stressed out or even thinking about all the negative energy which could consume your remaining energy for the day. In fact, when I find myself heavy in thoughts about things that I need to act upon, I do some Yoga, and than I am able to think clearly and make decisions. I don't ponder as much and I don't waiver between decisions. Yoga offers clarity of the mind for me and I am very thankful for that because I am quite the scatterbrain without it!
