The Yoga Tree?

Written by selfhealingshop.com

Trees are often used to help individuals understand the structure of Yoga. Simply put, an expansive tree with large branches, deep roots and a strong trunk can be thought of as Yoga.

You know those trees that have branches low enough that even the smallest children can approach it? The ones that are so huge they seem to go straight to the sky, symbolizing new heights that can be obtained through this practice, all will a large trunk that provides a stable foundation.

No one really knows how long Yoga has been around, however ancient scrolls in Tibet have described forms of Yoga as early as 40,000 BC. F you do a little research on the history of Yoga, you will find it very fascinating. There are books made of palm leaves dating back to something like 3000 BC, and these books, I tell you, would not make it in the average household today! They look so fragile! But it is very interesting world history. They say that in the ancient times, people would practice Yoga outside in nature.

Because Yoga involves listening, many opt to practice it outside today. I always see this on television and the movies and it looks so peaceful. I would like to practice outside, however I am a little self-conscious because I am not very fluent in my poses. I would look very clumsy out there on a beautiful beach falling all over the place!

Nonetheless, that is my goal once the weather breaks. I will be practicing my poses so that I can go public next summer! See you on the beach!
